Head Coach - Maryland: 2001-2010

The 2002 Peach Bowl marked the first bowl victory of Friedgen's head coaching career. His Terrapins rolled over Tennessee 30-3 to finish the season ranked in the top-15 of both the AP and Coaches polls for the second year in a row. Friedgen was named the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year in 2001 as well as the National Coach of the Year by nearly every major outlet. He bookended his time at Maryland with ACC Coach of the Year nods in 2001 and 2010.
