Head Coach - NC State: 1972-1975
Although he only coached at NC State for four seasons, Holtz led the Wolfpack to two Peach Bowl appearances: 1972 and 1975. Holtz matched up with legendary head coach Bobby Bowden and the West Virginia Mountaineers in each of his team's appearances in the bowl, winning in a blowout in 1972 and losing a close game in 1975. After leaving Raleigh, Holtz went on to coach at the collegiate and professional levels, most notably leading Notre Dame to a national championship in 1988. He was inducted into the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in 2008.
