Head Coach - LSU: 2000-2004
Head Coach - Alabama: 2007-2023
Often regarded as the greatest coach in college football history, Saban made two of his 31 bowl appearances at the Peach Bowl, once with LSU and once with Alabama. In 2000, he coached the Tigers to a 28-14 victory over local squad and heavy favorite Georgia Tech. Though his Alabama teams made several appearances in the Aflac Kickoff Game throughout the years, Saban did not return to the Peach Bowl until the 2016 College Football Playoff semifinal. In the final college football game ever played in the Georgia Dome, the Crimson Tide rolled over Washington 24-7, en route to the second of four consecutive championship game appearances. During his coaching career, Saban coached his teams to seven total nation championships. He was named the Bobby Dodd Coach of the Year in 2014, and earned a slew of National Coach of the Year nods throughout the years. He was inducted into the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in 2025, just two years after his retirement.Â
