Peach Bowl

Born and raised in the Atlanta metro-area, Barton played in front of a home crowd when his Tar Heels were selected to play in the 1983 Peach Bowl following his freshman season. He went on to earn First Team All-American honors in 1986 and later had his No. 67 jersey retired by North Carolina. Following a professional career that saw him win three Super Bowls with the San Francisco 49ers, Barton was named to the Chick-fil-A College Football Hall of Fame in 2021.
