Game On: Peach Bowl’s Touchdowns for Children’s Campaign Kicks Off

College football fans support childhood cancer research by pledging donations throughout the season

ATLANTA (Aug. 29, 2024) – Children's Healthcare of Atlanta and Peach Bowl, Inc. are kicking off the eighth annual Peach Bowl Touchdowns for Children's (T4C) fundraising campaign. Money raised during the campaign will go directly to the Peach Bowl LegACy Fund, which is currently funding 14 Phase 1 clinical trials and studies to help find potential cures and treatment options for childhood cancers. The Peach Bowl LegACy Fund benefits the Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center of Children's, one of the largest pediatric cancer centers in the country.

The season-long campaign provides football fans and alumni the opportunity to donate to Children's every time their favorite chosen college football team scores a touchdown during the regular season. Heading into its eighth season, T4C has raised more than $3.9 million for the patients at Children's, including $1.9 million in direct donations from Peach Bowl, Inc. This year, the goal is to raise $400,000, and Peach Bowl, Inc. will once again generously match all pledges per touchdown and donations.

"Each year we look forward to college football season and the impact alumni and fans make for our patients and families facing pediatric cancer," said Dave Winokur, Development Officer at Children's Healthcare of Atlanta. " With Atlanta's dedicated college football fans, supporters of Children's and the Peach Bowl all on our team, there's no doubt it will be another winning year."

There are multiple ways to get involved, including setting up a pledge-per-touchdown amount or making a one-time donation. Participants can also create a team fundraising page that allows their supporters to contribute directly, or a group fundraising page to join forces with others. Also returning this year is the Champions for Children's program, which offers top supporters the opportunity to secure VIP tickets with food and beverages to the 2024 College Football Playoff Quarterfinal at the Chick-fil-A Peach Bowl, as well as corporate recognition and other exclusive benefits. The Bowl will be held on New Year's Day, Jan. 1, as it hosts its first ever-Quarterfinal game as part of the newly expanded 12-team College Football Playoff.

"We are humbly honored to team up with Children's Healthcare of Atlanta for this worthy cause. Every single pledge and touchdown this season will make a difference," said Gary Stokan, CEO and president of Peach Bowl, Inc. "We hope Atlanta's passionate college football fanbase will be the real MVPs so that together we can join efforts to eradicate childhood cancer."

The individual or organization that raises the most money will be recognized with the 2024 Anna Charles Hollis T4C Trophy at the end of the regular season. The trophy is named in memory of Anna Charles "AC" Hollis, a former Aflac Cancer and Blood Disorders Center patient who passed away from acute myeloid leukemia in September 2018. Anna Charles is the daughter of Peach Bowl, Inc. VP of Sales, Benji Hollis.
